This was my first repeaters, having owned and shot several revolvers thru the years. After much research both in person and online, it seemed that the Kimber CDPII ccustom was the way to go. Boy, am I glad that I made this choice. It is a stunningly beautiful weapon, and would look good framed on my wall ( I don't think my wife would go for it, though)...but it begs to be shot, and is a pleasure to shoot. Never fails...very accurate...and feels great in my hand in a way that revolvers never have. A little more expensive, but worth every penny. It's really true...you do get what you pay for.

This pistol is amazing. It is the first 1911 I have ever owned, I have shot many though, and this is by far the best. I got lucky and bought it from a friend after he had put only 50 rounds through it, because he lost his job. Bad for him good for me. The craftsmanship is beautiful, it breaks down easy, is actually fun to clean because I know how well it will shoot the next time I take it out. I was skeptical about the aluminum frame, but after shooting it, all my skepticism was put to bed. It is deadly accurate, and the trigger pull is perfect. If you have the chance to purchase this gun, go for it, you wont be disappointed. GO KIMBER!!

Kimber makes some beautiful 1911's, and the Custom CDP is no exception! everything about its craftsmanship is perfect and it shoots like a dream. a bit on the pricey side, but that is to be expected from a high quality pistol like the Kimber. got mine used from a friend for a decent price though. 1911 is still my favorite.
