As a small female (5'2" and 105 lbs) it is difficult for me to shoot most regular sized pistols because I usually have to adjust my hand to reach the safety, mag release, and slide stop. NOT THE CASE WITH THIS 1911!!!! I was extremely skeptical when the usual guy I talk to at my gun store told me he had a 1911 that I would fall in love with. I had been wanting one for so long, but never found one that fit my hand. When he handed it to me, I was sold from the moment I locked the slide to the rear. I could reach everything without moving my hand and it was honestly the smoothest slide I have ever touched. I bought it right then and there, and brought it back to work (a weapons shop on an Air Force Base) to take it apart and inspect it. I noticed the hammer had a small catch about halfway up in it's forward motion, mind you this was very minute. After work I took it out to the civilian range that I am a member of, with 100 rounds of PMC Bronze 230 grain ammo. First shot at 15 meters with a shoot-n-c target took out half the red bulls-eye in the middle, and boy was I expecting a lot more recoil. The trigger had a very clean break, no extra movement up/down or left/right, and it was very light. It was easy to get back on target quickly. I am an ambidextrious shooter. I put 4 mags respectively in a target shooting left and right handed. Both groupings were about 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide (32 shots basically made a giant hole in the targets). The red bulls-eye was no longer there on either target. The sights were dead on straight out of the box. After 50 shots I cleared my weapon and checked my hammer. No more catch as it went forward! Must have just been some bluing that was there or something like that. The next 14 shots were a breeze. Overall my biggest complaint about the gun is I ran out of ammo way too quickly. I have put about 1500-2000 rounds through it since that day and I am more satisfied than ever! This gun takes every brand of ammo I have found to put in it and never had a single stoppage.
I will say that the description above has one discrepancy. The magazine holds 8 rounds, not 7. So it is 8+1. But I see that as kind of a bonus.

Top quality 1911, very accurate, sights are right on out of the box. Easy to handle, has all the bells and whistles built right in. The trigger is the smoothest I've ever felt in a 1911. The slide feels like it's on ball bearings. Clean it, lube it, shoot it!
For this price and this quality, you'd be silly to buy anything else.

best out of the box trigger you will find for under $1500 very high quality tight toleranced israeli construction. 2.75 inch groups with high quality ammo at 50 yards out of the box. my only complaint is that it is very greasy out of the box and deserves a good cleaning before shooting.
